The Ramona Fire Department enforces local and county fire ordinances. We utilize Fire Prevention Services to inspect parcels and cite property owners who are out of compliance with local ordinances. Fire Prevention Services is under the direct supervision of the Ramona Fire Marshal. The Fire Marshal personally inspects every parcel which is slated for violation enforcement. Violation enforcement will not occur without proper documentation and the Fire Marshal's approval.

Questions concerning weed abatement can be directed to the Fire Department Secretary at (760) 788-2250 Monday thru Friday 8am-4pm.

If you have a complaint regarding hazardous weeds or if you may have received a violation notice, you may contact Fire Prevention Services at (760) 839-8394. For additional assistance or information, please go to their website at http://www.fireprevention.net.  For additional information about the costs for their services, under the Ramona link, you  can obtain a fee schedule for the services that they provide. Property owners are not limited to utilizing Fire Prevention Services to abate brush and/or remedy a complaint or violation notice for hazardous weeds. Property owners are encouraged by the Ramona Fire Department to utilize a telephone directory, Chamber of Commerce or online search engine to contact other landscape contractors experienced in providing brush and hazardous weed abatement services in order to ensure that such services are competitively priced.

Have a fire safe year!
