The District is beginning construction at the Barona Mesa Sewer Lift Station, to install a new stationary emergency generator.

Project Purpose: Install a stationary emergency generator to provide reliable backup power for the lift station.

Why This Project Is Important: The lift station currently does not have a stationary generator. Once installed, the generator will allow the facility to remain operational during both scheduled and unexpected SDG&E power outages. Maintaining continuous operations helps prevent service interruptions and reduces the potential for sewer spills caused by incoming wastewater flows.

Traffic Impacts: The lift station is located in a cul-de-sac, and traffic in the area is minimal. No significant traffic impacts are anticipated during construction.

Project Schedule: Based on the contractor’s current construction schedule, the project is expected to be completed by September 22, provided equipment deliveries occur as planned.
