Elections for the District’s five-member Board of Directors are held during even-numbered years. Candidates must be registered voters residing within the District and must run in the geographic division in which they live. Pursuant to California Government Code §61040(b), a candidate must be a voter of the division they seek to represent. At the same time, Board members are entrusted with representing the interests of the entire district—not solely their division (Gov’t Code §61040(c)).
